    Question Welche Mame Games brauchen extrem viel CPU?

    hallo zusammen,

    ich bräuchte eine auflistung aller mame-games, die nur mit extrem viel cpu-power anständig laufen (falls überhaupt)... um meine aktuelle hardware-config mal auf herz und nieren zu prüfen

    mir fallen spontan folgende spiele ein die nur mit viel cpu-power spielbar sind:

    - outrunners
    - g-darius
    - in the hunt
    - mk 3
    - tekken

    bitte liste erweitern,

    thx und grüße
    chris

    so, hab im netz mal ne nette auflistung von rechenintensiven mame-games (mit cpu empfehlung ) gefunden, die ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte:

    also ich hätte schon bock auf flüssige "seattle and vegas games" emulation, aber meint ihr wirklich 6-10ghz wären dafür nötig. werde die tage wohl mein system etwas oc müssen

    The Seattle and Vegas games, which include:

    * Any of the 3D Gauntlet games
    * Any of the NFL Blitz games
    * Any of the SF Rush games
    * Mace: The Dark Ages
    * Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
    * California Speed
    * Vapor TRX
    * Bio F.R.E.A.K.S.
    * CarnEvil
    * And others that I forget, but these are the most oft-asked-about

    Are projected to require anywhere from 6GHz to 10GHz or higher for full speed. This is due to the CPU that they used - a RISC CPU ranging from 150MHz to 200MHz with a large set of registers isn't going to be emulated with great speed, no matter how you slice it.

    The Playstation-based games, which include:

    * Namco System 11 games, including
    o Tekken
    o Tekken 2
    o Soul Edge
    o Star Sweep
    o Dunk Mania
    o Quiz Kosodate My Angel 3
    o Dancing Eyes
    o Prime Goal EX
    o Point Blank 2
    o Xevious 3D/G
    * Namco System 12 games, including
    o Tekken 3
    o Tekken Tag Tournament (which does not currently work anyway)
    o Aqua Rush
    o Mr. Driller
    o Derby Quiz My Dream Horse
    o Ehrgeiz
    o Fighting Layer
    o Golgo 13
    o Libero Grande
    o Paca Paca Passion
    * Capcom ZN1/ZN2 games, including
    o Battle Arena Toshinden 2
    o Judge Dredd - The Game
    o Street Fighter EX
    o Tetris: The Grand Master
    o Rival Schools
    o Street Fighter EX2
    o Strider 2
    o Tech Romancer
    o Star Gladiator 2
    * Taito FX games, including
    o Magical Date EX
    o Psychic Force EX
    * The only Konami GQ System game, Crypt Killers
    * Konami GV System games, including
    o Hyper Athlete
    o Powerfull Baseball '96
    o Nagano Winter Olympics
    o Susume! Taisen Puzzle Dama
    o Wedding Rhapsody
    * Simpsons Bowling

    Require the equivalent of around a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 and upwards. Some games attempt to run in high-resolution mode, which bumps up the requirements a great deal. Some of the games have the option of turning high-res ("interlaced") mode off, some do not. Certain games such as Soul Calibur are not playable anyway due to unemulated protection, among other things.

    Sega Model 1 games, which include:

    * Virtua Fighter
    * Virtua Racing
    * Wing War
    * Star Wars Arcade

    Aren't very demanding, you should squeak by with the equivalent of a 2GHz Pentium 4. It's worth pointing out, however, that currently only Virtua Fighter is what would be considered "fully playable", the rest have various issues stemming from a completely undocumented chipset which handles pretty much all 3D-related calculations, ranging from simple trigonometry to more complex things such as car elevation calculation, car behavior calculation, and collision detection.

    Sega Model 2/2A/2B/2C games, which are too numerous to list, but include more popular games such as:

    * Sega Model 2:
    o Daytona USA
    o Desert Tank
    o Virtua Cop
    * Sega Model 2A:
    o Sega Rally Championship
    o Virtua Cop 2
    o Virtua Fighter 2
    o Zero Gunner
    * Sega Model 2B:
    o Dead or Alive
    o Dynamite Cop
    o Indy 500
    o Sonic Championship / Sonic The Fighters
    o Virtua Striker
    o Virtual On
    o Zero Gunner
    * Sega Model 2C:
    o Sega Touring Car Championship
    o The House of the Dead
    o Top Skater

    Are projected to be in the same general vicinity of the Atari/Midway Vegas games, probably towards the higher end of 10GHz. Keep in mind, however, that Sega Model 2 and 2A games may never have 3D emulation implemented due to totally undocumented DSPs that Sega used for 3D geometry calculations, among other things. Sega Model 2B and 2C games are potentially emulatable, but currently only have 2D support in MAME, and it is not known when they will have 3D support.

    Sega Model 3 games, which are too numerous to list, but include more popular games such as:

    * Virtua Fighter 3
    * Scud Race / Super GT
    * The Lost World
    * Sega Rally 2
    * Virtual On Oratorio Tangram
    * Daytona USA 2
    * Dirt Devils
    * Star Wars Trilogy
    * Virtua Striker 2
    * Virtua Striker 2 '98
    * Virtua Striker 2 '99

    Are emulated, in some form or another, by MAME. However, due to their incredibly (for the time) powerful hardware, the games are very slow. Completely accurate estimations are difficult to make, but expect that Model 3 games will require the equivalent of a 10-20GHz Pentium 4 and upwards.

    Konami Hornet games, which include:

    * Gradius 4
    * Silent Scope
    * Silent Scope 2
    * Terraburst

    Are currently emulated at only a very rudimentary level in MAME, so coming up with an estimate for this system, though one can expect the games to require anywhere from 5GHz to 10GHz, probably towards the higher end of that range and possibly more.

    There are other miscellaneous "modern" systems that are already emulated quite well and quite playably by MAME.

    Midway V Unit games, which include:

    * Cruis'n USA
    * Cruis'n World
    * Off Road Challenge
    * War Gods

    Are playable on top-of-the-line systems these days, requiring upwards of a 4GHz Pentium 4 to run full-speed.

    Killer Instinct 1 and 2 are currently emulated, with Killer Instinct 1 requiring upwards of 2GHz to run full-speed and Killer Instinct 2 requiring upwards of 3GHz to run full-speed. Keep in mind, though, that these games aren't truly 3D, and only require what they require due to their fast RISC CPUs and ugly sound hardware.

    Atari CoJag games, which include:

    * Area 51
    * Maximum Force
    * Vicious Circle

    Currently run very well on top-end systems, requiring around the equivalent of a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 to run comfortably.

    bin mal gespannt ob sich das mit den doppelkernen verbessert, hängt aber sicher davon ab ob mame auch dafür angepasst wird...

    ich hab mal irgendwo im Net was gelesen, dass es eine spezielle Mame Version gibt, die die 3D Karten verwendet und einige wesentlich flotter abspielen lässt. Jemand schon getestet?
    werden da High Scores gespeichert?
